About

Hi there, my name is Giliard Gomes.

I’m from Bahia, born and raised in Northeast Brazil. Currently, I am based in Guanambi, a medium-sized countryside city. I moved back to my home state in 2025 after four years living in Belo Horizonte and three and a half years in Manaus, the largest city in the Amazon rainforest region.

My journey with design started very early. Since I was a child, I’ve loved to draw and paint on paper, and once I got my first computer, I naturally continued doing the same digitally.

My first contact with a design tool was PhotoScape, where I spent a few months creating graphic content for Orkut communities. Following that, Photoshop became my primary tool for many years, while I simultaneously started coding for the web by creating blog templates. Throughout the 2010s, I mastered other Adobe software such as Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and After Effects—the latter helping me develop strong skills in motion graphics and animation.

In 2014, I joined an IT college with focs on systems development. That same year, I was already applying User Experience and Interface concepts to my previous years of web development and graphic design. Since then, UX and UI have been a part of my life almost every single day.

In 2025, I started a new degree in Product Design.

Beyond work and design, I am someone who enjoys nature, sports, movies, traveling, and good food.

Currently, I work for an American company called Quorum, a leading provider of Public Affairs software.

I have been working remotely from Brazil since 2020. In 2022, I traveled to Washington, D.C., where I had the opportunity to experience the U.S. capital in person, visit The Capitol, and work directly from the HQ (Capitol Canary at the time, which was acquired by Quorum a few months later).

In my spare time, I’m likely watching sports—mostly football (soccer), as a dedicated Flamenguista.

I’m a big fan of filmmaking and great TV series. I’m always sharing my thoughts on what I’ve been watching on Letterboxd and TV Time.

Last but not least, I am always collaborating with Google Communities as a Product Expert.
