About

Hi there, my name is Giliard Gomes.

From Bahia, born and raised in Brazil’s Northeast ground. Currently, I'm based in Manaus, the largest city in the Amazon rainforest region after almost 4 years of living in Belo Horizonte.

I started with design very early in my life, since I was a child I liked to draw and paint on paper, and when I got my first computer, I continued to do the same but digitally.

My first contact with a design tool was PhotoScape, where I spent a few months creating graphic content for Orkut communities. Following that, Photoshop was the tool that I used primarily for many years at the same time that I started coding for the web by creating templates for blogs. Over the decade of 2010, I acquired knowledge of the main other Adobe software such as Illustrator, Adobe Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and After Effects, this last one helped me to create skills for motion graphics and animation.

In 2014 I started the college of software computing and IT, and in that year I was already applying concepts of user experience and interface with my previous years of web development and design graphic. Since then, UX and UI have been present in my life almost every single day.

Besides work and design, I'm a person who enjoys nature, sports, movies, traveling, and good food.

Currently, I work for an American company called Quorum. A leading company in Public Affairs software.

I have been working remotely from Brazil since 2020, but in 2022 I went to Washington DC and had the opportunity to see in person the capital of the United States, visit The Capitol, and of course work from the HQ (Capitol Canary at that time, which was acquired by Quorum few months later).

In my spare time, probably I will be watching some sport, most times football (soccer), being a legit Flamenguista.

I consider myself addicted to filmmaking and to good TV series. I'm always sharing thoughts and what I've been watching on Letterboxd and TV Time.

The last, but not less important, I'm always collaborating with Google Communities as a Product Expert.
